Samsung is set to showcase its latest innovation at CES 2024—the Flex four-door refrigerator with AI Family Hub+. This smart fridge introduces an internal chamber integrated with artificial intelligence, transforming it into a culinary assistant that develops recipes based on users’ current stock or dietary preferences.
The refrigerator, building on a similar 2023 model, boasts an upgraded Vision AI feature that identifies up to 33 foods, suggesting recipes to users through its 32-inch touchscreen display. Samsung takes integration a step further by allowing users to stream their Galaxy smartphone screens directly onto the Family Hub, creating a multifunctional entertainment and kitchen hub.
One standout feature is the fridge’s connectivity to the Samsung Health profile via Family Hub, enabling it to tailor recipe suggestions according to individual dietary needs. While the technology has its limitations, such as recognizing more common foods, users can manually input expiration dates for items on the touchscreen, receiving timely notifications when they are due.
